Instagram images and Stories
Feed image fitting
Instagram only accepts feed images with aspect ratios between 4:5 and 1.91:1. In Settings → Instagram → Feed image fit choose what happens to images outside that window:
- Fit with background (default), the full image is padded onto a background of your chosen color; nothing gets cropped.
- Zoom and crop, the image is center-cropped to fill the nearest valid ratio.
Stories
Story channels post to a 1080×1920 canvas: the product image is scaled to fit and centered on a background color, and, because Instagram ignores captions on API-published stories, your post text is drawn onto the image as a rounded text strip. In Settings → Instagram → Story you control:
- Canvas background color
- Draw the post text on the story on/off
- Text color, text background color and opacity (%)
- Font size (16–120 px) and distance from top (0–1700 px)
Long text wraps up to 6 lines and is ellipsized beyond that.
