Posting to Facebook

Connect a Facebook business Page to Yoomru and every product you choose is posted to it automatically, with images, captions and a product link.

Facebook channel settings

What you can post

  • Text posts built from your template, with shortcodes like {product_name} and {product_price} resolved at publish time.
  • Product image posts. Multiple images become a multi-photo post.
  • Link posts. Facebook renders a preview card from the product page.
  • Generated product videos from your video templates.
  • A first comment under the post, useful for hashtags or extra links.

A Facebook post carries either an uploaded image set or a link attachment, never both. That is a Facebook API rule, so the channel settings let you pick one of the two.

Connecting

  1. Open Channels and press Add channel.
  2. Press Connect on the Facebook row.
  3. Log in with the Facebook account that manages your Pages and approve the permissions.
  4. Pick the Pages you want. Each Page becomes its own channel.

Yoomru only ever posts to the Pages you select. Personal profiles are not supported by the Facebook API.

Channel settings

Open the channel from the Channels page to configure it:

  • Auto-share to this channel: new products that go live in your store are posted here automatically.
  • Product filter: share all products, only selected collections, or everything except selected collections.
  • Customize content: override the global Facebook template for this channel, switch between link and image posts, enable a generated video, and set the first comment.
  • Labels: tag the channel so planners and bulk actions can target groups of channels.

Tips and limits

  • Posting fails if the connected Facebook user loses admin access to the Page. Reconnect the channel after any role change.
  • Facebook tokens expire when you change your Facebook password or revoke the app. The channel shows a reconnect warning when that happens.
  • Scheduled posts go out from Yoomru servers, so nothing needs to stay open in your browser.
